You can purchase a study support pack which consists of 3 books that cover all 9 units and a DVD with practical multiple choice test questions. This pack costs £40.00 from the College’s reception and although this is optional it is strongly recommended.
You are allowed three free re-sit for each unit failed. After that should you need to re-sit an exam there will be a charge of £25 per session. Please note that the knowledge test is not part of this qualification.
On achieving the qualification you will automatically be registered on to the National Register of Taxi and Private Hire Drivers developed by People First, the UK skills council for hospitality, passenger transport, travel and tourism.

This course is for you if you are looking to a career in taxi driving or are an existing taxi driver.

To enter this program you will need to show enthusiasm, commitment and interest in the subject area and have a commitment to the sector as a whole. No formal qualifications are necessary but a minimum entry 3 level of literacy is required
Course Contents
Units offered include road safety when driving passengers in a taxi or private hire vehicle, and professional customer service and routes and fares in the taxi and private hire industry.

Outcome

How will I be Assessed?
Each unit of the qualification has an on-line test which is governed by the awarding body. There are nine units and the tests are scheduled in agreement with the learners and the tutor. Learners are provided with all the necessary support to suit individual requirements.

Please note that for each exam that is taken, photographic identification of yourself is required and this can either be your passport or your full driving licence (paper and card).

Certification
After attending the course and successfully passing a multiple-choice questions examination, candidates receive Level 2 ”INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE OF THE PROFESSIONAL TAXI AND PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER” certificate from an awarding body within England and Wales who are currently recognized by Ofqual and Department for Education and Skills.
